Session Themes
- Day One - Regional: A very broad topic dealing with tectonics, structure, depositional systems, seismic hazards, carbonate reservoirs, speculative pre-Tertiary plays and a global analogue.
- Day Two - Irrawady-Moattama-Andaman: Presentations covering seismic acquisition/processing, regional sequence stratigraphy, fractured volcanic reservoirs, biogenic charge, turbidite depositional systems and field development from some of the most active operators including Berlanga, PETRONAS, PTTEP and TOTAL.
- Day Two - Onshore: A showcase of the latest in a diverse range of topics from MOGE, industry, service companies and academia arranged in geographic order starting regionally and then proceeding North to South.
- Day Three - Rakhine: A conference highlight focusing on the interest and activity in the deepwater of this basin. There are papers on recent seismic acquisition/processing, field geology, depositional systems, tectonics, gas hydrates, well operations and producing reservoirs. Principal operators Chevron, ENI, Ophir, Petrochina, PVEP, Shell and Woodside will all be presenting papers.
Optional Post-Conference Field Trip
The Myanmar Geosciences Society will offer a 4-day/3-night field trip to the Kalaw Basin to visit Mesozoic sediments of Kialaw Basin and view conspicuous surface geologic expressions of Sagaing Strike Slip Fault and Shan Boundary fault (Suture Zone), as well as various Paleozoic to Tertiary outcrops along the road sections.
