The Induced Polarization Survey in the scenario of new technologies for the Barents Sea exploration

On October 2, at the 3P Arctic Conference & Exhibition, Kim Gunn Maver will speak on "The Induced Polarization Survey in the scenario of new technologies for the Barents Sea exploration."

The fourth day of the 3P Arctic Conference & Exhibition is October 2. Session chairs Brian Horn and Bent Kjølhamar will welcome attendees and introduce session nine speakers, who will be speaking on Mapping the Arctic - New Geological and Geophysical Maps and Datasets. Kim Gunn Maver, Spectrum ASA, will be the third speaker to take the platform on Friday.

Abstract: The Induced Polarization Survey in the scenario of new technologies for the Barents Sea exploration

Seismic data is the key geophysical tool utilized in hydrocarbon exploration to map new prospects. However, as part of the de-risking process, other geophysical technologies such as induced polarization measurements have recently proven to be a very valuable and reliable hydrocarbon indicator and therefore a key factor when estimating the Geological Chance of Success as shown for the Hoop are in  the Barents Sea.
