Inaugural Event!
Polar Petroleum Potential
30 September - 2 October, 2009
All-Russia Exhibition Centre (VVC) - Moscow
Hosted by AAPG/RosGeo
Call for Abstracts opens 5 January 2009
The Arctic is Hot!
AAPG and RosGeo have joined to provide Arctic explorers with a unique experience. The Polar Petroleum Potential, 3P, is a geological/geophysical focused conference of circum-Arctic basins that are within the Russian, Norwegian, Greenlandic (Danish), Canadian and Alaskan onshore and offshore basins. The main themes of the conference will include:
- Resource and Exploration Potential of Petroleum Provinces within Russia, Canada, Norway, Greenland and Alaska basins
- Tectonic and Paleogeographic Evolution of the Arctic in the Phanerozoic
- Circum-Arctic Plate Tectonic Models
- Geodynamic Modeling of the Arctic Margins
During the three-day conference, we are planning to have upwards of 275 technical presentations, plenary sessions, 2½ days of three concurrent oral sessions and three days of poster sessions. Also in planning are Arctic-focused short courses, Russian field trips and an entertainment program. A small, focused exhibition floor will feature companies that are focused on Arctic technologies.
This is going to be a fabulous conference for geoscientists who work the Arctic. Today, you see many Arctic conference announcements but none focused specifically on exploration and geology of the Arctic Regions and that is what we want this conference to focus on: the basins, the petroleum systems and the rocks.
Please join us at this inaugural AAPG event in Moscow. Our exhibition floor space will be exclusive to companies working the Arctic and our short courses and field trips focused on the Arctic and Arctic technologies.
We hope to see you in Moscow.
